of Love: From Loss to Purpose, A New Beginning for Humanity
In 1982, as a 20-year-old college student, my life changed forever. I met Zoey, a soul so luminous that one glance at her turned a fleeting moment into a love that would transcend time. Our story was one of profound connection, culminating in a sacred marriage. Yet, as life often unfolds, the paths we thought were intertwined began to diverge, and we found ourselves separated by distance, circumstances, and the unpredictability of fate. Years later, out of the blue, I received a call. It was Zoey. Her voice trembled with anxiety as she recounted a vivid dream where she had lost me; a dream that felt painfully real to her. I reassured her, calmed her fears, and promised her that all was well. But just three days later, the unimaginable happened. A mutual friend delivered the devastating news: Zoey’s heart had stopped beating at the tender age of 31. In her dream, she thought she had lost me, but it was her who was leaving this world. Perhaps subconsciously, she knew she wasn’t going to be in this world much longer and needed to hear my voice, to say ‘I love you,’ and to offer a quiet, final goodbye. That dream, I realized, was not just a warning but a message; a message that would echo through my soul for decades to come. Grieving and unable to travel to be with her family, a profound idea came to me: to honour Zoey’s memory by doing something spiritually meaningful. In that moment, I decided to pay my respects not through presence, but through action—a gesture of goodness and love. Still, I buried myself in work and responsibility. Life passed me by in a blur of material pursuits, caring for aging parents, and chasing the elusive milestones of worldly success. Yet, beneath it all, I felt an emptiness, a quiet but persistent voice urging me to look beyond the material world and seek the deeper truths of existence. Zoey’s departure wasn’t just a loss; it was a calling—a spark that ignited a journey of love, spirituality, and philanthropy. Years turned into decades. After losing both of my parents, I was left utterly alone. But with solitude came clarity. The message Zoey had left behind was now impossible to ignore life is too fleeting and precious to be spent solely in pursuit of material gains. There is a deeper purpose, a higher calling, and a sacred responsibility to live in service of others with love, compassion, and kindness as our guiding stars. Several years ago, the seeds of an idea from 31 years ago began to sprout. Despite facing failures and setbacks, I could feel Zoey’s presence, her gentle smile, urging me to rise each time I fell. On my fifth attempt, after years of struggle, persistence, and faith, the idea finally blossomed into reality. Today, 31 years after losing her, I stand here not as a man consumed by loss but as one guided by love; a love that now fuels a mission for humanity, for animals, for the environment, and for the planet itself. This mission has taken the form of GardenOfLove, a philanthropic platform built to inspire purpose, generosity, and unity in a world often consumed by materialism. In a society where success is measured by possessions and status, we are here to challenge that narrative. Life’s true wealth lies not in what we own but in how we give, in the connections we build, and in the seeds of love and kindness we plant along the way. GardenOfLove is more than just a platform; it’s a movement, a call to action to rethink the way we live. It’s a space where individuals and organizations can come together to create a ripple effect of positive change. It’s a reminder that our time here is finite and that our greatest legacy isn’t measured in things, but in the lives we touch, the causes we champion, and the love we leave behind. As I reflect on this journey, I realize that Zoey’s dream was more than a premonition; it was a gift, a spark to awaken a higher purpose within me. And now, I pass this spark on to you. Let us step away from the distractions of a materialistic world and embrace a life of meaning, purpose, and compassion. Together, we can plant seeds of love that will grow into a better tomorrow for all. This is our story, and it is just the beginning. Join us in the GardenOfLove. Let’s honour the beauty of life by creating a world where every act of kindness becomes a force for good.
